Who I am

I was diagnosed with Bipolar II Mixed many years ago.  I have experienced the ups and downs of Bipolar Disorder throughout my life.  I wrote an essay entitled “Living on the Edge of Madness” several years ago and it details the many moods and horrific feelings I have been through over the years. It is available for $15 and it is well worth the read.  I have also written another essay entitled “Finding Myself” which is intorspective and spiritual, also for $15. I am a retired Administrative Assistant who worked in social service agencies, a college and a psychiatric hospital.  I also worked in the substance abuse field.  I enjoyed working in all of these jobs. After I retired I have been working for NAMIMAINE as a respite provider for children for eight years and enjoy it a great deal.  I am married and have one son who lives in Timberon, New Mexico with his wife who happens to be an astrophysicist.  My son teaches boxing by skype to Google employees.  It has been a challenge for me to raise him along with me dealing with Bipolar Disorder.  I have experienced many struggles with this disorder but I am happy to say I believe I have somehow been successful and I have been able to live a “normal” life practically throughout the whole ordeal.  I believe I have positive help I would like to share with you.  I am ready to receive your questions and answer them in the best way I can.
